SMM March 31 News: According to official information from Jinlong Copper Co., Ltd., the company recently concluded a successful public sale of approximately 32 metric tons (physical weight) of crude selenium, with an estimated metal content of around 24 metric tons. SMM has learned that while the final buyer of this batch of crude selenium remains undisclosed by the company, the transaction price officially reached CNY 155,000 per metric ton. This price significantly exceeds recent market levels, though the auction outcome aligns with broader market expectations.
Following a prolonged period of price consolidation, selenium prices have recently shown an upward trend. Many crude selenium suppliers have temporarily halted shipments, while markets for selenium dioxide and refined selenium also exhibit cautious selling behavior, with traders raising quotations. Industry analysts note that this auction result reflects both increasing market activity and growing confidence among industry participants in the selenium market. Both suppliers and end-users remain optimistic about the future market outlook.
